Launching JoomlaGATor! with version 2.2.0-B1! JoomlaGATor! is the new name for Google Analytics Tracking Module for Joomla 1.5. As you can see the old name was a bit of a mouthful and hard to distinguish from other modules. I have continued the versions straight on from 2.1.3. What's New? With version 2.2.0 Beta 1 comes automated download tracking, mailto link tracking and external link tracking. Also arriving is some much requested documentation that should really have been written long ago. All the old features remain and I aim to have translations for the final 2.2.0 too. Features - Automatic SSL detection
- Subdomain tracking
- User tracking
- Automatic downloads tracking
- Sampling rate support
- Browser detection customization
- Customization ofsearch engines
- Ignored keyword support
Spanish & German translations

I have updated the Google Analytics Module to v2.1.0. The module now features the added ability to track individual users logged into the site based on their username. Non logged in or registered users are tracked under "Guest". The updated roadmap is: v2.2.0 - Add plugin to allow tracking of file downloads and custom SEF page names v2.3.0 - Add campaign data support v2.5.0 - If Virtuemart or suitable alternative is updated for 1.5 then cart tracking and possibly Docman integration. I rewrote my Google Analytics tracking module to use the new ga.js code from Google. This is a complete overhaul and works a lot better than previous versions. There are a host of new features outlined below and more can be expected in future versions. A brief roadmap is: v2.1.0 - Add plugin to allow user tracking, tracking of file downloads and custom SEF page names v2.2.0 - Add campaign data support v2.5.0 - If Virtuemart or suitable alternative is updated for 1.5 then cart tracking and possibly Docman integration. The module has now been split into 2 versions, first the normal version that most will need that supports tracking to one Google Analytics account. The second is a multiple account version that is suitable for those that wish to track their site on up to 3 separate Analytics accounts. Use the standard unless you need the multiple accounts version as it uses 1/3 of the code and will be a lot faster! The Google Analytics Tracking Module automatically adds the necessary code for Analytics to work on every page it's published on. Since v2.0.0 the plugin has been completely rewritten to use ga.js, rather than the legacy urchin code. This allows for greater flexibility and customisation. SSL is now automatically detected. This is for Joomla 1.5.x ONLY! Features: - Auto SSL detection
- Reduce load time by disabling logging of certain data
- Reduce load by setting sample rates
- Tracking across multiple subdomains
- Add custom organic search provider
- Tweak ignored referrals to count as organic

This is for tracking using a single Google Analytics account. To track to multiple accounts use this version. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 5809 | E-mail | Read more... |

In the quest for a fully native Joomla 1.5 site I found that I needed yet another module converted. I had been using the Joomla 1.0.x version of this module which is very well written however with the final release of Joomla 1.5 now upon us it seems likely that Docman will soon be updated as a Joomla 1.5 extension thus negating my need for Legacy mode. Thus I updated this component to Joomla 1.5, fully tested on the release version. A module based on Julien Pinaud's Google Adsense Search Module that adds a module to your site that allows searching the web using google or searching your site with the google engine. This is the Adsense version that allows you to earn revenue from ads displayed along side results. Fully customizable with all Google options. Native Joomla 1.5 component, this will NOT work with Joomla 1.0.x. Features: - Search Type: Google WebSearch + SiteSearch (up to three URLs)
- Site-flavored search
- Customized Search button
- Logo type and position
- Site language
- Open results in a new window or not
- Your site encoding option
- Country or territory for Google domain
- Custom channel support
- Logo image URL
- Logo destination

UPDATE: Fully tested on Joomla 1.5 Release as working. Joomla 1.5 has now hit Release Candidate 3 so I decided to upgrade one of my websites to the latest build. I wanted to avoid having to turn on the legacy plugin for old 1.0.x extensions but couldn't find a Google Analytics Trakcing module native for Joomla 1.5 thus I decided to write one. This extension is fully compatible with Joomla 1.5 RC3 and has features for SSL as well as tracking users. The extension is completely free. Latest version: 1.0.2.
